A fixed number of cards are dealt to each player at the start of the game. The top card is positioned face-up next to the remaining cards to foplaying slots onlinerm a discard pile, and the remaining cards form a face-down draw pile. Each player draws a card from either pile, after which they discard a card from their hand. The round goes on until a player declares their hand and uses all of their cards to form sets and sequences that are legal.
