Three or more consecutive cards of the same suit make up a run, whereas three or four cards of the same rank but different suits make up a set. Each round begins with a player drawing a card from the discard pilebook of dead slots or the stockpile. To maintain a hand size that keeps the game moving smoothly, they have to discard one card after drawing. The strategic component is put into play when players must choose which cards to keep and which to discard while monitoring the moves of their rivals. The game goes on until one player declares "Rummy" & ends the round after successfully melding all of their cards into sets and runs that are legal.
