In order to create legitimate card combinations, or melds, players alternately draw cards from the draw or discard piles. Thsatta king rasultree or more consecutive cards of the same suit (a run) or three or more cards of the same rank (a set) can make up a meld. Players must monitor their opponents' moves as they draw and discard cards, all the while trying to finish their own melds.
