Players can choose to take the top card from the discard pile or draw from the draw pile as the game progresses in turns. Players can place legitimate sets or runs—which are made up of three or more cards of the same rank (sets) or three ortypes of expansion slots more consecutive cards of the same suit (runs)—on the table after the draw. Also, by adding cards to already-existing runs or sets on the table, players can potentially manipulate their opponents' hands and engage in strategic play. A player can score points based on the cards still in their opponents' hands after successfully discarding their final card to end the round.
