Depending on the variation being played, each player is dealt a fixed number of cards, usually between seven and teslots lvn. With one card face-up to begin the discard pile, the remaining cards form a draw pile. As they watch their opponents' movements to predict their strategies, players alternately draw cards from either pile and discard one card.
