Daniel Negreanu, already off to a strong start to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) for the first time since 2017, has reached another final table as he chases his eighth bracelet.

The GGPoker ambassador is deep in Event #30: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship, his second final table appearance this summer. He finished second to Ryan Bambrick in the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship a week ago, and also has an 11th-place finish at the 2025 WSOP.

'Kid Poker' Cruising at the 2025 WSOP

Negreanu's strong performance continued on Day 3 in the high-stakes 2-7 event, a tournament he finished in fourth place in 2023 and eighth place in 2021. He's one of seven remaining players all vying for the bracelet and the $497,356 first-place prize.

The seven-time bracelet winner hasn't started strong at the WSOP much in recent years. His last fast start came in 2017 when he reached two final tables within the first week, and had three by June 15.

Negreanu isn't the only player left in the 233-entrant field who'd make headlines if he were to win. Nick Schulman is chasing his seventh bracelet, which could come in handy in a few weeks. The PokerGO commentator turned 40 this year, making him eligible for the Poker Hall of Fame, and the voting process is already underway.

Schulman and Scott Seiver, who also reached eligibility this year, appear to be the frontrunners for the sole 2025 Poker Hall of Fame inductee. But there are other candidates in contention, including Jeremy Ausmus, Ted Forrest, and PokerStars founder Isai Scheinberg.

George Alexander busted in eighth place ($45,883), leaving seven players left. Negreanu, at the time of publishing, was sitting on one of the smallest stacks, although there isn't much of a gap between seventh and first place. Schulman, who has been among the chip leaders throughout much of the day, was near the top of the chip counts.
