Three or four cards of the same rank but different suits make up a set, whereas three or more cards of the same suit in a row make up a sequence. Players alternately draw cards fromuno slots the discard pile or the deck in an effort to strengthen their hands while simultaneously monitoring the moves of their rivals. After every turn, players discard any cards they don't need in a game that usually consists of multiple rounds. The game ends when a player declares "Rummy" after successfully forming sets and sequences with every card in their deck.
