By bluffing, players can deceive their opponents about their intentions and hand strength. For example, if you frequently draw cards from the discard pile that don't appear to be connected to your current melds, your rummy boldopponents might think you're aiming for a different combination than you are. It takes precise timing & observation to bluff effectively. An opponent may make erroneous decisions as a result of a well-timed discard, which gives the impression that you are not interested in particular suits or ranks. Bluffing should be used sparingly, though, as overuse of this strategy can become predictable & backfire if opponents figure it out.
