Ancient Chinese game Mahjong, which has roots in the Qing Dynasty, is the source of Holy Rummy, also known as Rummikub, a popular tile-based game. Chinese immigrants brought the game to America in the esattaonlinearly 1900s, and American players took to it immediately. The game changed & became culturally appropriate over time. Israeli citizen Ephraim Hertzano invented the modern game of Holy Rummy in the 1940s. Hertzano invented Holy Rummy by fusing aspects of the classic card game Rummy with the tile-based game Mahjong. The game became well-liked in Israel very quickly, and it then extended to other nations.
