In the well-liked variation known as Pool Rummy, players try to accumulate a certain number of points over several rounds. Players earn points in this version according to the cards they still hold after another player leaves.
  • Players should develop both strategic thinking and observational skills in order to succeed at Rummy Bindaas. Being aware of the cards that opponents have thrown away is a useful tactic. Players can use this information to determine the cards their opponents are most likely holding and the possible melds they are attempting to create.
  • The goal is to arrange the cards into legitimate melds, which can be sequences (three or more consecutive cards of the same suit) or sets (three or four cards of the same rank). Each player takes turns selecting a card from the discard or draw pile, after which they discard one card from their hand. The game goes on until a player declares Rummy after successfully forming their entire hand into valid melds. Going out is a fundamental element of Rummy Bindaas. Only after forming all of their cards into legitimate melds and holding no unmelded cards can a player declare their victory.
