In order to make legitimate combinations of cards, such as sets (three or four cards of the same rank) or sequences (three or more consecutive cards of the same suit), players must arrange their cards. Rummy's social elements stem from player interaction during gameplay, including card draws and discards, as well as the natural friendly competition that develops. These social components, however, do not entail making allies or cooperating to achieve a common objective.
