America's 19th century saw the invention of the card game rummy, which is currently very popular. Its roots are thought to lie in the Chinese game Mahjong, which was brought over by immigrant Chinese. The game became widely rummy all ap listpopular in American homes very quickly, & over time, several versions were created. Arguably one of the original variations of rummy is the Mexican card game Conquian, which is still played in some parts of the nation. The goal of the game is to form sets & runs of cards, which is similar to modern rummy. Rummy has many variations, each with its own rules and gameplay components, as its popularity spread throughout Europe and the United States.
